This school year is my first year that I have taken any digital arts class. Computer Visual Arts is the name of the course and I'd have to say that it is much easier than i thought it would be. Often times in my freshman and sophomore year i would admire my oldest sister for drawing on the computer and thought that i wouldnt be able to do it myself. She would come home with prints and would hang it on her bedroom walls and i would just sit there in such amazement on how realistic it looks. How would i be able to render something like she did? I was always more into the traditional art with paints and charcoal. Since this is my last year of high school i wanted to do something new. I wanted to do what my sister did and draw on the computer too.. well.. while also being a tad pressured by the teacher to join his class. I would have to say that it wasnt a mistake. I could of had just 5 classes and be home early everyday my senior year but instead i filled it will digital art. At first drawing on the computer was difficult.. but then i got use to the mouse.. all of a sudden I was introduced to the tablet. It took time to get used to but now I cant possibly draw without it. I still need reference photos.. and to me it seems like im just plainly "copying" what i see. I do not paint over but i still feel a tad guilty. I believe that i shouldnt be able to claim that what ive digitally painted is mine.. because it was someone else's photo that i painted off of. If i referenced, it shouldnt look exactly the same.

anyhow.. im rambling..

I will be posting up my WIP and reference photos so that i will not feel like I am taking someone else's work.

I hope that one day i will be able to draw...without the need of a reference and still having it come out as picture perfect as I want it to be.
